Kadiak, LLC,a Koniag Government Services Company, is seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent who also has expertise as a Safety and Health Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned leader with a focus on safety, overseeing complex construction projects while ensuring compliance with all safety regulations. This position will require travel to job sites as needed.
The Senior Superintendent/Safety and Health Manager will take a lead role in managing all aspects of construction projects, from planning to completion.
Core responsibilities include:
- Provide leadership and guidance to subcontractors and project teams.
- Develop and implement safety protocols, conducting comprehensive inspections to ensure a safe work environment.
- Oversee multiple subcontractors simultaneously, monitoring progress and addressing challenges proactively.
- Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and vendors to streamline project execution.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Prepare detailed project status reports and communicate updates to key stakeholders.
- Lead safety training initiatives and promote a culture of safety on job sites.
- Implement quality control measures to achieve project goals efficiently.
Education and Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in engineering or business field of study with minimum four (4) years of experience. Additional experience accepted in lieu of educational requirements.
- 8+ years of experience as a Superintendent in the construction industry.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects.
- Experience in developing and overseeing safety programs on construction sites.
- Must have a Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST) certificate from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals
- Must have experience with OSHA and EM-385
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Extensive knowledge of construction methodologies, procedures, and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex construction projects from inception to completion.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficient in safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and compliance standards.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be able to relocate internationally
- Must be a United States citizen with a Top-Secret Security Clearance
Desired Skills and Competencies:
- OSHA 500 Certification.
- Extensive experience in overseeing international government construction projects.
- Familiarity with environmental compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in safety management tools and software applications.
- Expertise in incident investigation techniques and root cause analysis methodologies.
Working Environment & Conditions
This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.
The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
