What We Are Looking For
3D Systems Healthcare is in search of a skilled Dental Laboratory Technician in partnership with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for the fabrication of additive manufactured dental prosthesis.
The Dental Laboratory Technician utilizes a thorough knowledge of oral anatomy, dental materials, and an advanced degree of knowledge, skills, and abilities in all phases of dental laboratory procedures. The incumbent participates in the digital design and fabrication of dentures, anatomical models, nightguards, custom trays, surgical guides, crowns, and general treatment plans.
Position Location: The job location for this position is onsite at the Seattle VA Medical Center. Unfortunately, there is no option to work remotely or hybrid in this position.
This is a Non-Exempt position.
What You Will Do
- Utilize CAD/CAM as the primary means of design and production of: dental models, nightguards, dentures, custom tray, denture base, crown and bridge, hybrid dentures.
- Fabricate appliances such as night guards, splints, stents, sleep apnea devices, and tooth position devices for orthodontic patients.
- Fabricate restorations to the esthetic, functional, and anatomic requirements of dental prescriptions.
- Waxes, invests, boils out, cures and de-flasks acrylic bases for partial and complete dentures.
- Reproduce dentures with a high degree of precision and accuracy.
- Remove excess acrylic from dentures, grind and select methods to simulate contours of natural tissue and polish to a natural high shine.
- Bend wrought wire clasps and bars to conform to the case design outlined in the dental Rx.
- Operate digital dentistry equipment such as lab scanners and 3D printers.
- Order and stock required laboratory supplies.
- Perform preventive maintenance on all laboratory equipment.
- Follow standard operating procedures for all hospital and VA directives for HIPAA compliance, environmental and safety standards.
- Assist in determination and maintenance of dental lab case due dates via digital management system (Teams).
- Communicate with dentists and the dental team to meet their standard of care.
What Makes You Our Ideal Match?
Education and Training
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Certification in dental lab technology or a related biotechnology profession is preferred but not required.
- Experience in high-volume dental lab environment is preferred but not required.
Demonstrated Experience
- Demonstrated proficiency in a dental technician role.
- Solid background in CAD or CAM applications within the dental field: digital denture design, crown and bridge design.
Proven Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Proficient use of dental laboratory materials (e.g., impression materials, plasters, stones, hydrocolloids, waxes, metals, acrylics, porcelain).
- Skilled operation of laboratory equipment (e.g., hand tools, dental lathes, engines, hand pieces, furnaces, casting machines, presses, flasks).
- Competent handling of precision instruments (e.g., articulators, surveyors, microanalyzers).
- Familiarity with digital dental processes, including digital scanning and 3D printing methods.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality dental prosthetics.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with dentists and other dental professionals.

$25 to $29 per hour (starting payrate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the candidate, and alignment with market data).
40-hour work week with potential overtime opportunities.
