Job Summary:
This position will require 50% time spent functioning in the LPN Team Leader role and 50% time functioning in the VMT role. Administers care that is individualized and is consistent with the plan of care and with standards of care/practice. Reports to RN any change in patient condition, administers medications, functions independently, within area of practice. Demonstrates clinical skills for work area, completes unit specific skills/competencies; demonstrates knowledge of normal growth and development in the delivery of care. Incorporates patient/family/significant other teaching into routine care under the direction of the RN. Adjusts work routine to meet changing unit and patient conditions. Fosters team building spirit, assists new staff members integration into the team, contributes to plan of care, as well as implementation of plan. Maintains a safe working environment and fosters positive public relations with patients, families and staff. Medication administration, obtaining vital signs, drawing blood, obtaining EKG's, hands-on nursing care, and some heavy lifting required. Current CPR and 1 year post licensure nursing experience preferred.
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must possess or be eligible to obtain a license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in New York State.
Preferred Qualifications:
One year of patient care experience.
Work Days:
Eve/Night shift Mon-Fri with every third weekend and rotating holidays.
