Neuropsychology Division Chief Academic Rank/Depends on Qualifications
The Department of Neurological Sciences at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) is seeking a full-time, adult-focused clinical neuropsychologist to join us as the Neuropsychology Division Chief. This leadership role includes a faculty appointment within the Department, with rank commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Strategic Growth Oversight: Develop goals in alignment with departmental and institutional strategies, recruit additional neuropsychology faculty, and liaise with departmental leadership.
- Clinical Program Operations Oversight: Review access and clinical facility needs, develop action plans, and create multidisciplinary programs in collaboration with other organizational departments.
- Educational Oversight: Build new educational opportunities for neuropsychology and neurology trainees.
- Academic Oversight: Identify and implement clinical and quality improvement projects within the Division, facilitate participation in multi-site clinical trials, and encourage scholarly output.
- Development of Best Practices: Establish collaborative relationships to ensure maximum productivity, operational efficiency, and safe, high-quality, evidence-based practices.
The Division Chief will lead a collaborative team of three adult neuropsychologists, two neuropsychology fellows, four psychometrists, and clinic support staff. We are also actively recruiting for at least two additional adult-focused neuropsychologists to join our expanding team.
Clinical Responsibilities:
The Division Chief will dedicate 75% of their time to clinical activities, with a focus tailored to the candidate’s interests. The Neuropsychology Division primarily receives adult and geriatric referrals from Neurology and Neurosurgery, including cases involving memory and movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, stroke, and epilepsy.
Academic Contributions:
The Division Chief will contribute to UNMC’s academic mission through teaching and supervising neuropsychology trainees and medical residents/fellows. There are also opportunities for involvement in interdisciplinary research within the Department and with our many partners across the Nebraska University system, and our NIH/NIGMS Great Plains IDeA-Clinical and Translational Research (GP IDeA-CTR) Network.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree from an APA/CPA-accredited program
- Completion of an APA/CPA-accredited internship program
- Completion of a two-year Neuropsychology post-doctoral fellowship
- Licensure in Nebraska or license eligibility
Supplemental Qualifications:
Preference for candidates who are board-certified or board-eligible in Clinical Neuropsychology through ABPP.
