Position Description: Texas State University is a leading institution dedicated to pushing the boundaries of innovation and research. Our Dynamic Systems and Intelligence (DynaGence) lab is dedicated to advancements that integrate artificial intelligence, nonlinear dynamics, control systems, and soft robotics, to develop intelligent mechanical systems, bio-inspired robots, and neuromorphic computing techniques.
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our DynaGence lab. The successful candidate will work on cutting-edge research projects that leverage the synergy between experimental and analytical techniques of soft robotics, dynamics, ML algorithms, and mechatronics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Writing research proposals.
- Publishing research findings in top-tier journals and conferences.
- Mentoring graduate and undergraduate students involved in related projects.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of researchers and engineers.
This position is subject to the availability of funds.
Required Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. degree in a field related to experimental techniques in mechatronic systems, such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, applied mathematics, or similar, completed within the last 3 years or within the next few months.
- Strong background in dynamics, control systems, and machine learning.
- Proven track record of research excellence.
- Ability to generate novel ideas.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as MATLAB, Python, or C/C++.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a collaborative mindset.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with soft robotics, dynamic systems, and data-driven control systems.
- Experience with nonlinear dynamic systems.
- Experience with the deployment of AI models in practical applications.
