Psychiatry/Mental Health-NP - Job Summary
Our behavioral healthcare facility is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate psychiatric and addiction nurse practitioner with dual certifications to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive psychiatric and addiction treatment to patients in our inpatient and outpatient programs. The ideal candidate should possess excellent clinical and interpersonal skills, as well as a strong commitment to patient care.
Location: West Monroe, LA
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and addiction evaluations, including medical and psychosocial assessments, to develop treatment plans for patients.
- Prescribe and manage medications for psychiatric and addiction treatment, monitoring patients for efficacy and side effects.
- Provide individual and group therapy, counseling, and support to patients and families in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, therapists, and social workers, to provide comprehensive and integrated care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings, contributing expertise on psychiatric and addiction treatment.
- Maintain accurate and complete electronic health records, documenting patient care and medication administration.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education and training to maintain certifications and stay up-to-date with best practices.
- Provide education and support to patients and families on addiction and mental health issues, including prevention, treatment, and recovery.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in nursing and certification as a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner and a certified addictions registered nurse required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a psychiatric and addiction nurse practitioner in an inpatient or outpatient setting.
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric and addiction assessment and treatment, including medication management and therapy modalities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and counseling skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in clinical documentation and medication management.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to ethical and professional standards.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations and cultures.
Incentives:
- Salary of $115,000 to $130,000 annually
- Comprehensive benefits package
Hours Of Operation:
Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
