We are currently seeking an experienced Lead Veterinarian Technician to join our team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate for this position will possess exceptional interpersonal skills, a genuine passion for animal welfare, and a solid commitment to delivering outstanding veterinary care to pets and their owners. This candidate will also lead our team of dedicated technicians and work closely with the Medical Director and Hospital Manager.
Currently, we treat small mammals and reptiles and support candidates interested in exotics. A friendly and compassionate demeanor, coupled with a high level of professionalism, is essential for success in this role.

Job Requirements:
- CVT or relevant experience required.
- Must be registered with the Colorado State Board of Veterinary Medicine (SBVM).
- Two years experience in a lead technician role preferred.
- Proficiency in advanced veterinary medical procedures and technologies.
- Strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to supervise and mentor a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff, clients, and veterinarians.
- Effective time management and organizational skills for handling various responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
Clinical Oversight and Patient Care:
- Supervise Clinical Procedures: Oversee and assist with advanced clinical procedures, including anesthesia, surgery, and diagnostic imaging.
- Responsible for training new and current veterinary technicians to ensure high standards of care and procedural proficiency.
- Ensure High Standards of Care: Monitor and ensure that all patients receive high-quality medical care and that best practices are followed.
- Emergency Care: Provide immediate medical attention in emergency situations and guide the team through crisis management.
- Supervise technician team: Oversee the day-to-day activities of the veterinary technician team, including assigning tasks and ensuring that they are completed effectively and efficiently.
Administrative Duties:
- Inventory Management: Manage the inventory of medical supplies and pharmaceuticals, including ordering, stocking, and checking for expiration dates.
- Compliance: Ensure that clinic staff comply with veterinary regulations, including proper handling and documentation of controlled substances.
Operational Support:
- Clinic Operations: Assist with the day-to-day operations of the clinic, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Coordination: Collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, management, and other staff to support clinic goals and operations.
