QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate from an accredited SLP program
- Massachusetts SLP licensure
- ASHA Certified
- New grads welcome (1 year of experience preferred)
- CPR certification from the American Heart Association BLS Provider
Job Responsibilities:
- Identifies, evaluates, treats and follows up clients on an inpatient and/or outpatient therapy basis as assigned.
- Evaluates the appropriateness of diagnostic and therapeutic materials and equipment.
- Initiates and follows up on necessary action in relation to clients.
- Completes department operational procedures.
- Demonstrates relevant knowledge and application of clinical skills.
- Meets productivity expectations as determined by the department standards.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies.
- Utilizes the professional code of ethics with patient and family.
- Performs assessment and collects basic level data to identify appropriate patient/family needs.
- Adheres to standards of practice, policy and procedures.
- Establishes plan of care with patient/family input.
- Documents and ensures follow through with plan of care.
- Questions appropriateness of standards of care.
- Demonstrates effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution skills.
- Utilizes and participates in team meetings and discussions.
- Develops Speech therapy staff by providing information and conducting training programs.
- Assists with on-the-job orientation and training for student interns.
Skills and Competencies:
- The therapist demonstrates competent clinical practice utilizing a clinical decision-making process.
- Utilizes clinical decision-making process to achieve desired patient/family outcomes.
- Experienced Level ST skills, Physiological Knowledge, Health Promotion and Maintenance.

Bachelor of Science (Required)
Certifications:
Basic Life Support – American Heart Association, Certified Speech Therapist – American Speech Language Hearing Association, Speech Language Pathology – SLP
