The Principal Product Manager, Manager - Health & Life Sciences role will sit on the newly formed Portfolio Evolution & Innovation team in the HLS sector, reporting to the Strategy & Incubation Lead, with role visibility to the Vice President, Portfolio Evolution & Incubation. This team will play a critical role in defining new paths for existing products and net new solutions or platform services, in line with the mission for continuous innovation. You will be at the forefront of crafting and bringing to market innovative solutions for Provider organizations in the era of GenAI. A successful candidate will gather voice of the customer to pressure test the value and potential of new use cases. You will be tasked with 0-to-1 product innovation, coordinating across Engineering, Research, UX, and Design to rapidly test and iterate on new solutions or platform services. As we move towards bringing novel solutions or platform services to market, you will support Private Preview, Public Preview, and GA stage gates. This role will manage a dedicated UX Researcher.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
- Drive 0-to-1 product build, taking strategic guidance and rapidly iterating with customers to test and refine hypotheses. Spearhead work with customers to uncover unmet or unknown needs and market opportunities for development of feature(s)/feature areas (e.g., product, service) via quantitative and qualitative analyses.
- Define the long-term vision and strategy for the product and its prioritized features based on a deep understanding of customer needs, market and user research, the competitive landscape, and Microsoft’s business goals and strategy. Write the product framing memo or strategy documents and reviews with senior leaders.
- Distill the vision and strategy into a product roadmap; own the roadmap for features, products, and services. Guide teams to prioritize the backlog and work with Engineering to align on tradeoffs for feature(s)/feature areas.
- Collaborate with Product Marketing, Business Planning, Finance, Engineering, and Customer Success from Private Preview to General Availability to identify product release criteria, customer acquisition, implementation, usage, support, retention, and monetization strategies.
- Provide experience to help teams partner collect performance metrics (e.g., KPIs such as engagement, usage, acquisition, revenue, and in-project features), monitor and report on progress, and derive insights and drive productive courses of action across teams to improve product/feature development, iteration, and implementation.
- As a manager, deliver success through empowerment and accountability by modeling, coaching, and caring for direct and indirect team members.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product management or software development
- OR equivalent experience.
4+ years people management experience.4+ years developing net-new products for provider or provider services in a 0-to-1 manner.
Other Requirements
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check. This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Product Management M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
