ROLE HIGHLIGHTS
Helen Woodward Animal Center is seeking a caring and skilled Veterinarian to join our 4-doctor general practice, Companion Animal Hospital. We offer in-house Idexx equipment, ultrasound, digital x-ray and dental x-ray, and cold laser. No overnight or on-call work is required. The Veterinarian should be proficient in general practice including spays, neuters, soft tissue surgery, and dentistry. SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a member of our team, you will be surrounded by a world-class team in and out of the hospital setting that is in the business of saving lives. In addition to our animal hospital, HWAC veterinarians have the opportunity, if desired, to serve the community through several highly regarded services. Our veterinarian team is focused on providing exceptional care to our patients. Our veterinarians have extensive facility resources and equipment at their disposal to properly address the needs of patients. Working with us, you will also be supported each day by a driven and productive staff including both RVTs, vet assistants, and dedicated reception staff.
Other responsibilities:
- All applicants must have a current CA DVM license in good standing.
- Ability to approach patients, clients, and staff with a pleasant and comforting demeanor.
- Maintain composure and focus under high-stress and intense environments.
- Practice all medical protocols under strict safety standards.
- Time and multitasking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication and a high level of emotional intelligence.
- Consistent record of attendance and punctuality.
- Solutions/results-oriented and passionate about meeting individual and team goals.
- This position does require continuous physical activity including walking, standing, sitting, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., and reaching overhead. Candidates may spend up to 10% of the time working outdoors.
