MUST Have Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Experience
Arc Compounding Pharmacy is seeking to hire an experienced Sterile Compounding Pharmacist who has knowledge of both sterile and non-sterile compounding techniques, formulations, and compliance. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in formulating, preparing, and dispensing customized compounds tailored to meet the specific needs of individual patients. The Sterile Compounding Pharmacist will have knowledge of USP guidelines. This pharmacist will be comfortable writing clinical content and will demonstrate constant curiosity to learn new formulations and keep up with industry trends and regulatory changes.
Responsibilities:
- Be fully involved in the actual preparation of sterile intravenous admixture solutions and non-sterile compounded medications, in compliance with pharmacy SOPs, FDA, BOP, and DEA regulations.
Perform quality assurance and verifications during the compounding process. - Supervise all aspects of aseptic processing, help formulate and improve SOP and batch records, participate in product development initiatives, and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
- Store and handle controlled and non-controlled substances.
Develop new master formulations depending on patient needs and maintain accountability for proprietary formulations. - Maintain environmental monitoring of clean rooms (temperatures, pressures, and checking incubator samples) and document as needed for quality control.
- Report out-of-specification observations, deviations, and modifications to the Quality Control unit and take necessary actions.
- Handle and host all Board of Pharmacy and other regulatory inspections, maintain all required documentation, and respond promptly.
- Maintain complete, accurate, and compliant documentation as per state and federal guidelines and requirements.
- Make recommendations for improvements to existing pharmacy methods and procedures and offer new ideas as part of the department's quality improvement effort.
- Participate in the maintenance and cleaning of the compounding environment, equipment, and tools as required.
