CRH Healthcare and Peachtree Immediate Care are offering an exclusive extended training program for providers that are newly graduated or have no prior experience in Urgent Care and Primary Care and would like to fine-tune their clinical skills.
- Three-month paid residency program
- First Phase: Initial 90 hours of training with Medical Leadership (including Regional Trainers)
- Second Phase: Provider works as a second provider in an approved regional center, meeting biweekly with their Senior DCS or VPCS for skills check-ins and ongoing mentoring and training.
Provider Residency Program content includes:
- Great opportunity for new providers or providers interested in Urgent Care and Primary Care to receive three months of extensive training in the following areas:
- EKGs
- Heart Murmurs
- X-Rays (chest, abdomen, wrist/hand, ankle/foot, spine)
- Occupational Medicine
- Preparation & administration of injections (Toradol, Rocephin, Decadron, Depo-Medrol, Epi, vaccines)
- Obtaining & performing tests (COVID, strep, flu, A1C, Hgb, glucose)
- Direct training and observation of proficiency in the below procedures:
- Suturing (simple interrupted, continuous, horizontal & vertical mattress, subcuticular, including facial lacerations)
- Incision & Drainage (abscess & paronychia/felon)
- Digital block
- Nail Procedures (Removal, Wedge excision)
- Pelvic exam
- Extensive Eye Exams (Fundoscopic exams, Wood’s lamp exam, fluorescein stain)
- Learning and demonstrating proficiency in the workup of the following conditions:
- URI, Sinusitis, Otitis Media, Strep, Pharyngitis
- Bronchitis, Pneumonia
- Abdominal Pain
- Sprains, Strains, Fractures
- MVAs
- Dizziness
- Headaches
- Chest Pain
- Anaphylaxis
- Bites/ Rashes
- Cellulitis
- Workman’s Comp Injuries
- Fever of Unknown Origin
- Stroke
- Dehydration
- UTI/Pyelonephritis
- STI
- Vaginal Discharge/PID
- Burns
- Program Progression:
- For the first training shift, the provider will be shadowing our Medical Leadership team members.
- Throughout the initial 90 hours of training, the provider will become comfortable with the EMR and proficient with our New Provider Training Guide.
- At the conclusion of the 90 hours of training, providers should be seeing most patients in a shift independently, likely still requiring consultation.
- During the second month of training, the provider will likely still seek consultation each shift but should be able to see patients independently.
- By the third month, the provider should be practicing independently, requiring minimal consultation and becoming efficient with their time.
- Graduation: To successfully graduate from the residency program, the provider must:
- Have met the minimum hours requirement of 40 hours/week for 3 months or a total of 480 hours
- Take the DOT course and successfully become DOT certified
- Take the EMB Medicine Course in Coding and pass the exam
- Demonstrate proficiency on the residency program checklist
- Attend a New Provider Training Course (if available in their region during their program)
- Take & pass the Residency Certification Exam (administered by CMO)
