Hybrid Work
At HCVT, we embrace a hybrid work model that offers a balance between in-office collaboration and remote convenience. Our teams work a minimum of two days a week in the office, complemented by in-person trainings, meetings, and team-building activities to foster your growth and deepen team connections.
As a Tax Manager with HCVT, you will have the opportunity to provide valuable consulting and compliance services to entrepreneurial individuals and their businesses. You will receive excellent training, and you will have the opportunity to meaningfully contribute to the success of the office.
As a Manager in our Tax service line, you will be responsible for the following:
- Provide high-level review of federal and multi-state income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and qualified federal tax credits.
- Build technical competence by keeping up to date on trends, developments, and technical authorities, and apply them to client situations.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships with key stakeholders and prospective clients.
- Work closely with clients to advise on income tax issues and tax planning.
- Responsible for meeting engagement timelines and budget guidelines.
- Provide job status updates to partners and client personnel in a timely manner.
- Work closely with and provide a leadership role to office staff and seniors.
- Oversee planning and scheduling of client engagements.
- Supervise expectations of engagement teams, project manager, and maintain due dates.
- Develop Seniors and Staff to help them grow professionally.
- Research technical and complex tax issues.
- Manage, coach, and provide ongoing feedback to Seniors and Staff.
- Provide formal and informal feedback.
- Effectively utilize and train others on firm tax preparation software.
- Develop strong relationships with firm professionals and clients.
- Attend networking events and participate in staff and senior-level trainings, recruiting events, and firm activities.
- Ensure high quality of work product.
To be successful, these are the skills and experience you will need:
- 5+ years of experience depending on relevant work experience.
- Bachelor’s degree; Master’s Degree in Taxation a plus.
- A licensed CPA or Enrolled Agent.
- Demonstrated management, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- High emotional intelligence with the ability to influence and resolve operational issues.
- Can learn, teach, and supervise in a fast-paced environment and is receptive to feedback and coaching.
- Ability to identify and propose resolutions to complex tax issues.
- Has a high level of attention to detail.
- Has a positive attitude and a team player mentality with a can-do spirit.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Proficiency in Thomas Reuters, GoSystem, ProSystems, or equivalent is preferred.
