Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation serving as an auxiliary organization of California State University, Sacramento. ASI provides employment to 55 full-time and over 350 part-time staff who deliver a wide range of programs and services to the 30,000 students of Sacramento State.
SUMMARY: Under the authority of and within the policies set by the ASI Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for the administrative, fiscal, and programmatic operations of Associated Students. This position directly reports to the Board of Directors and supports its members in carrying out their responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as primary advisor to the Board of Directors, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Direct staff on program and fiscal matters, safeguarding ASI’s financial and legal interests.
- Authorize hiring and termination of all full-time staff and supervise department directors.
- Provide programmatic oversight by coordinating, developing, and implementing new policies.
- Assist in the development of the annual corporate budget with the Director of Finance.
- Oversee assessment and improvements relating to ASI programs and services.
- Negotiate, sign, and implement all contracts for the organization.
- Serve as an advisory, non-voting member of the ASI Board of Directors.
- Act as primary liaison with the University and the community.
- Perform other duties relating to the overall mission of ASI.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in student services or related field.
- Five or more years of progressively responsible management experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of business administration principles.
- Three or more years of supervisory experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience as a director in a 501c3 corporation.
- Experience with student governance.
- Experience working in higher education.
- Experience managing state or federal grants.
