Job Summary
Responsible for the provision of engineering and technical counsel on codes and standards, maintenance and repair of medical equipment in clinical areas and for the establishment of appropriate safety standards. Ensures preventative maintenance is performed on all medical equipment in compliance with established quality controls, codes and standards. Directs the activities of the biomedical technicians, including selecting, training/orienting and scheduling, and contacts vendors for maintenance and repair services.
Job Requirements
Minimum Education Requirement:
Associate or Bachelor degree required.
Minimum Experience Requirement:
Ten (10) years of experience as a biomedical engineering technician with at least five (5) years supervisory experience required. Excellent customer service skills required.
Minimum License Requirement:
Current California Driver’s license. Must be 21 years of age or older; must have two (2) years of continuous driving experience in the state of California. If a license is suspended, the experience record begins from the time of license reinstatement; must have no major convictions (i.e., DUI/DWI, hit and run, driving with suspended license, reckless driving, eluding police, open containers, exhibition of speed (racing), negligent driving); must have no more than one (1) moving citation in a three (3) year period; must have no more than one (1) at-fault accident in a three (3) year period. Accidents will be considered at-fault unless evidence is provided (i.e., police report and/or letter from insurance company) showing the incident as not at-fault. Anesthesia Manufacturer certified. Manufacturers Ventilator certification. Manufacturer certified on Telemetry/Patient monitoring systems.
