We are looking for a Head of Cell Therapy to join our team in Houston, USA. The Head of the Lonza Houston Asset oversees the compliant manufacturing of Cell Therapy products at the site. This role includes ensuring that operations are conducted in a safe and respectful environment, adhering to the latest cGMP standards, and meeting production commitments and other asset-related activities in a timely manner.

Key responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management: Lead a dedicated management team with full accountability for asset profitability and success. Provide clear direction for performance improvements and ensure delivery on objectives. Manage the operations team and lead through a matrix organization for functions that support execution, including Engineering, Facilities, EHS, PM, QA, MSAT, QC, and others.
- Operational Coordination: Coordinate with support functions such as Supply Chain, F&E, MSAT, Finance, QA/QC, and others to fulfill asset needs and ensure the delivery of necessary services to enable smooth asset operations.
- Site Leadership Team Participation: Serve as an integral member of the Site Leadership Team (SLT). Collaborate with both internal and external customers to meet internal goals and customer requirements. Drive continuous improvement activities, strategy development, and support organizational development and cultural leadership.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with Quality Assurance to develop, modify, implement, and operate quality systems that align with Lonza standards.
- Talent Management: Attract and retain skilled talent. Foster a team-centric environment that enhances business performance. Motivate others, create a positive work climate, encourage inter-departmental collaboration, and provide coaching and performance feedback.
- Objective Setting and Resource Management: Clearly assign objectives, set and measure progress, marshal resources, and manage competing priorities. Establish clear directions, lead effectively, and bring out the best in team members.

Key requirements:
- HS Diploma or equivalent may be considered with relevant experience in Biotechnology, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering or equivalent.
- Extensive Biotechnology experience preferred (5-10 years of experience).
- Proven experience in managing manufacturing operations, ideally in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong understanding of cGMP standards and quality systems.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience managing a diverse team.
- Excellent skills in coordination and collaboration with various support functions.
- Ability to drive continuous improvement and strategic development.
- Effective talent management and motivational skills.
- Ability to work inter-departmentally and with customers.
- Exceptional leadership, interpersonal communication, negotiations, collaboration and management skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and direct tasks in a fast-paced environment is critical.
