They have an immediate opening for a leader for their dynamic Actuarial and Underwriting department. In order to maintain financial stability and pursue growth, their insurance line must have sound, market competitive rates for all of its products in Wisconsin and Illinois. It requires sophisticated reporting and analysis to discover and address changes in utilization, population health risk and other factors which may impact short or long term experience. In addition, the health plan needs advice and expertise regarding risk adjustment and various risk-based reimbursement models to ensure the success of its ACO in a rapidly changing market.
The Director of Actuarial and Underwriting will be responsible for providing leadership on reporting and analysis for both the health plan and the ACO (Accountable Care Organization). The Director is responsible for identifying and assessing risks, opportunities and mitigating strategies to positively impact the financial performance of the plan and ACO. The Director will provide leadership and expertise in the development of rates, products and improved experience reporting. Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or other relevant field.
- FSA, MAAA, minimum of ten years health insurance experience.
- Experience with multiple functions and products is required.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Experience and knowledge of Wisconsin and/or Illinois health insurance market is highly desirable.
- Federally Facilitated Marketplace and/or Medicare Advantage experience desirable.
- High level of independent thinking, demonstrated leadership and excellent communication skills are required.
