Short Description:
The Head of the Metadata Management and Digital Content Unit reports directly to the Head of the Moving Image Section at the National Audio-Visual Conservation Center at the Library of Congress. The Unit which this individual supervises is responsible for receiving, organizing, and creating inventory control and cataloging records for all moving image physical and digital collection items and related materials acquired by the Library of Congress. The incumbent works highly independently, exercising considerable independent judgment, and carries out duties and responsibilities in accordance with broad overall guidelines and policies pertaining to moving image materials.
Key Skills:
- Ability to supervise and lead a diverse workforce.
- Knowledge of the principles, concepts, and techniques of library science.
- Knowledge of integrated library systems, library applications, and other information technologies for managing the processing, inventory, and cataloging of physical and digital moving image materials.
- Ability to communicate in writing.
- Ability to communicate effectively other than in writing.
