The Systems Administrator is responsible for building, operating, and integrating Systems in the development environment. Server environments include development, testing, and BETA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building servers from virtual and bare metal machines
- Implementation of Middleware and COTS Products
- Configuring and maintaining network services on servers
- Integration of Systems/Applications at Service Levels
- Writing shell scripts to automate common administration tasks
- Maintain machines using VMware administration tools
REQUIRED Qualifications:
- Windows Systems Administration (Desktop/Server) – (6+ Years)
- SAN Infrastructure – (3 Years)
- Scripting/Automation Services – (1 Year)
- Networking – (4 Years)
- Security Compliance and Best Practices – (1 – 2 Years)
- Experience of Middleware (Apache/Websphere/Weblogic) and Database (SQL/Oracle) (3+ Years)
- Experience of Rational suite of software development tools (e.g., ClearCase, ClearQuest, RSA)
- Experience of various hardware and software interoperability and the installation and configuration process
- Understanding of system and network engineering principles and system backup and recovery best practices
PREFERRED Qualifications:
- MCSE or RHCE
- Understanding/Experience of Security and Patch Management
- Understanding of Authentication Systems (i.e. LDAP, x509, SmartCard Authentication, Single Sign-On)
- Understanding of government security guidelines and standards
- Understanding of automated audit log collection & analysis tools
- Industry Certifications CCNA/CCNP
• Ability to work independently with various department staff, other state, local, and federal agencies to accomplish goals and meet extensive deadlines.
• Knowledge of current Telephony services and Technologies.
• Knowledge of Avaya and/or Cisco platforms, call center features, and operations.
• Ability to resolve technical telecommunications problems utilizing multiple vendors/contractors.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to function under pressure and maintain composure in chaotic situations to resolve service-related issues.
• Understand Call Center features; such as, Automatic Call Distributions (ACD), Call Vectors, and Vector Directory numbers (VDN).
• Ability to develop work and call flows.
• Work with multiple network platforms, such as; WAN, WLAN, Security, Voice, and Video.
• Disseminate information effectively to all teams and customers.
• Understand a large and complex network environment.
