LifeSource is hiring a Director of Professional Development, Education & Learning. This newly-created role will oversee the governance, design, development, and deployment of all organizational learning, educational (clinical and non-clinical), and leadership programs. This role leads and guides all Learning and Education team members regardless of where they sit in the organization to achieve the department and organization’s strategic and operational goals.

As a Director of Professional Development, Education & Learning, you’ll advance our life-saving work by performing the following job duties:
- Create strategy and oversee the design, development, and delivery of all curricula and infuse equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) into all educational and leadership programs and tools throughout the organization regardless of where the content originates.
- Lead and manage Learning and Education function, operations, and team members, and other content designers/contributors that may reside in other functional areas.
- Regularly coach, supervise and assess performance of department team members.
- Consult and collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify learning needs and/or performance gaps and define, develop and centralize best practices.
- Identify and implement ways to reinforce and sustain ongoing learning and thread it through existing content to increase learner retention.
- Implement adult learning principles when designing all curricula including but not limited to new hire orientation, job-specific onboarding, continuing education, leadership development EDI and performance management.
- Lead the design of assessments for consistent evaluation of learning and educational programming effectiveness. Identify measurements and criteria to determine if the learning solution is supporting and promoting operational excellence.
- Maintain and promote organization-wide learning and leadership models.
- Guide strategy, governance and prioritization of all learning, educational and leadership programming while partnering with the executive team, SMEs and other parties with a vested interest.
- Develop annual educational programming that aligns with and supports organizational strategy and meets established department goals.
- Lead project management and/or program implementation when collaborating with SMEs to develop and deploy comprehensive learning, educational and leadership programs.
- Create, deliver and/or facilitate learning, educational and leadership sessions as needed.
- Demonstrate a commitment to excellence and a dedication to inspire, educate and engage team members.
- Manage departmental, team and project-based budgets.
- LMS ADMINISTRATION AND EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY:
- Oversee LMS administration including licensing and procurement of all educational technology tools.
- Manage development of all processes related to use of the LMS. Audit and monitor data integrity and maintain version control.
- Ensure successful deployment to all users by facilitating user testing, creating training and user guides. Provide a resource for uploading and maintaining internal course content in the LMS, as necessary.
- Oversee and execute reporting and data accuracy in accordance with regulatory and compliance requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A combination of education and experience equivalent to seven (7) years in instructional design, content development, evaluation or assessment and adult learning techniques and theory in a corporate setting.
- Five (5) years of demonstrated team leadership with a track record of meeting or exceeding department and organizational goals while achieving high employee engagement. Proven ability to lead through organizational change.
- Experience in adult learning principles, instructional design, program design, development, delivery and deployment.
- Proven ability of leading, designing and oversight of leadership development programs.
- History of assessing whether to build or buy learning, education and leadership programs.
- Collaboration and public speaking skills with the proven ability to obtain pertinent information through observation or interview and translate it to a written learning program.
- Demonstrated capability in project management, program implementation, and change management techniques with facilitation experience in remote, in-person and hybrid forums.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to observe and assess team members in a hospital and transplant environment during the organ, tissue and eye donation process.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience working with a Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and/or LMS database systems.
- Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of service to internal and external vested parties.
- Knowledge of DEI practices and ability to translate knowledge into learning practices.
- Proven self-directed contributor with an ability to function autonomously, establish priorities and work effectively within a team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Organized, detail oriented, and excellent critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to exhibit a high degree of quality, integrity, and honor confidentiality of appropriate information.
- Skilled in using technology-based devices and mobile tools.
This role is hybrid on-site in Minneapolis, MN.
