Participates with psychiatrists, social workers, pastoral counselors, psychologists, and nurses in the care of psychiatric patients. Interviews, diagnoses, and prescribes care and treatment of psychiatric patients. Administers medication, psychotherapy, and provides evaluation of patients and consultation to non-medical personnel. Confers with and advises medical doctors, agency representatives, and staff members in the care and treatment of psychiatric patients. Under general supervision, exercises medical responsibility for A&D, CAF, CR/CM departments. These professional duties require analysis of broad problems and planning interrelated activities. Provides services in a culturally sensitive manner.

This position is located at the Department of Mental Health, Spartanburg Office, 250 Dewey Avenue, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
Minimum Requirements:
- Graduation from an approved school of medicine and completion of three (3) years residency in psychiatry.
- Licensed or eligibility for license to practice medicine in the State of South Carolina.
- Two (2) years of experience in psychiatric programs.
Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
