The Strategy Director is an integral contributor to the development, governance, and realization of John Hancock’s long-term strategy and vision, specifically for the US Segment. Reporting directly to the AVP of Strategic Planning & Portfolio Oversight, this influential role will define and drive strategic goals aligned with business objectives and client/customer needs. You will provide timely data and insights to stakeholders, deliver forward-looking advisory services to senior management, and maintain an effective monitoring framework to ensure successful strategy execution. You will also work closely with the Global Strategy & Transformation team to enable efficient completion of Segment-led initiatives.
Position Responsibilities:
- Champion and influence strategic goals through thoughtful analysis and alignment with the US Segment strategy.
- Drive strategic execution via planning, reporting, and change management activities.
- Gather and deliver critical information and recommendations to senior management.
- Develop executive presentation materials, performance reports, and ad-hoc analyses.
- Analyze business priorities, evaluate growth options, and generate executive actions.
- Monitor industry trends and conduct external research to inform strategy.
- Lead strategic communications and build partnerships with key business stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
- 10 years of relevant, progressively senior experience.
- Advanced degree in business or equivalent; management consulting experience is an asset.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong financial services business acumen and strategic thinking abilities.
- Proven experience in developing and executing large-scale transformation strategic plans.
- Ability to break down complex problems and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in management consulting.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with senior leadership.
- Proven track record in strategic planning and execution.
- Experience leading communications strategies, such as all-colleague townhalls and offsites.
- Ability to quickly shift priorities and adapt to changing environments.

Salary range is expected to be between: $114,975.00 USD - $206,955.00 USD
