Department Overview
Our Servicing experts manage all Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA Finance loans originated by Walker & Dunlop, as well as certain life insurance company, bank, and CMBS loans. They are the primary point of contact for borrowers and ensure that investor requirements are met from loan closing through payoff. The Department consists of six main functional areas: Loan Administration, Asset Management, Insurance Compliance, Investor Reporting, Treasury, and Compliance. W&D’s Servicing portfolio is the 8th largest in the U.S., and W&D is one of Fitch’s highest-rated Servicers, with a rating of CPS1.
The Impact You Will Have
This position is a key member of the Asset Management team, responsible for the management of post-closing consents, lender audits, special AM escrows, overseeing performance, and devising recommendations to the Company.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform special request asset management and servicing consent request activities that fall outside of typical day-to-day asset management.
- Manage a varied portfolio of requests from start to completion, including training team members.
- Act as the primary liaison with Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, Master/Special Servicers, and internal/external compliance/auditors.
- Coordinate new servicing requirements into departmental policies and procedures, job aids, and related training.
- Monitor departmental portfolio oversight by regularly running reports related to consents, special escrows, etc.
- Manage the Asset Management Transactions Inbox.
- Train analysts and Asset Managers on transaction best practices and conduct departmental training sessions.
- Review and complete requests of varying complexity, including Assumptions, Transfers of Interests, Easements, collateral releases, lease review approvals, loan modifications, and maturity extensions.
- Monitor Borrower’s compliance with Loan Documents and inform senior management of perceived risks within the assigned portfolio.
- Provide backup CSO duties as needed.
- Meet tight deadlines and hold oneself accountable.
- Work with WD Tech to enhance processes.
- Create departmental reports and dashboards using the data warehouse.
- Communicate and problem-solve daily with teammates, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Attendance is generally 8:30 am – 5:30 pm EST Monday through Friday with the ability to work up to 2 of those days remotely.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in Asset Management, GSE preferred.
- Ability to travel independently five to ten days per year.

- Strong analytical skills, including proficiency in MS Office products.

This position has an estimated base salary of $140,000 - $150,000 plus discretionary bonus.
