The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (Fred Hutch) and the University of Washington (UW) are jointly recruiting a full-time physician-scientist at the Associate Professor or Full Professor level without tenure due to funding (WOT) to serve as Scientific Director of the multiple myeloma program. The successful candidate will join the Translational Science and Therapeutics Division (TST) and the Immunotherapy Integrated Research Center (IIRC) of the Fred Hutch, and the Division of Hematology and Oncology, Department of Medicine at the UW. The primary appointment will be with Fred Hutch. Academic appointment at the University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank. The position will allow for outpatient and/or inpatient clinical service. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.
The successful candidate must have expertise in multiple myeloma, a proven track record of leadership, and be engaged in laboratory-based research investigating the biology of multiple myeloma, adoptive cellular therapies and/or the regulation of immune responses in the tumor microenvironment or other factors that impact tumor progression or regression. The selected individual for the advertised position will foster an environment of collaboration and productivity with clinicians and laboratory scientists in the multiple myeloma and cancer immunology programs. Candidates must demonstrate a track record of peer-reviewed publications in the multiple myeloma field and success in obtaining extramural funding.
Fred Hutch is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington.

Applicants must have a medical degree (MD/PhD welcomed), or foreign equivalent, and board certification or eligibility in Hematology, Medical Oncology or a related specialty (or foreign equivalent) and must be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Washington. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $240,162 to $420,547 for faculty hired at the Associate Professor rank and from $271,123 to $472,040 for faculty hired at the Professor rank. Pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. Pay for Faculty positions is based on a variety of factors, including degree, specialty, clinical practice and experience. This position is eligible for relocation assistance and sign-on bonus.
