The Global Medical Head of Rhinology and Gastroenterology (R&G) will report to the Global Medical Head of Immunology Alliance assets. This person will play a key leadership role within the respiratory franchise and will lead a team of global medical professionals dedicated to supporting products in this therapeutic area. He/she will be in charge of developing and ensuring the execution of the Global Medical Strategy in alignment with the Global Brand Strategy. This person will be expected to successfully partner with Regeneron, as an alliance partner.
The position requires excellence in strategic planning and operational execution; the person will build strategic plans, supervise the implementation and execution of the global medical activities, and interface with the regional medical respiratory leads. In addition, this person is expected to have the ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed environment and demonstrate outstanding interpersonal skills. A strong commitment to achieve corporate objectives while maintaining the highest ethical, regulatory and scientific standards is required.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead Lifecycle Management (LCM) for the R&G franchise; ensure the LCM strategy is clearly defined and consistent with brand strategic objectives.
- Oversee execution of lifecycle studies, ensure the appropriate processes are in place for review, approval, management and support of high-quality studies.
- Lead the overall publication strategy and collaborate with the Scientific Communication group to ensure scientifically sound, balanced, accurate and timely disclosure of SAGZ data in the respiratory space.
- Oversee medical budget management.
- Oversee internal and external training and education activities.
- Collaborate with the regional medical heads in EU, Japan, emerging markets and US.
- Work closely and compliantly with Global Commercial Head of Respiratory to ensure aligned brand strategies and coordinated plans.
- Lead the respiratory KOL relationship management.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other groups supporting the brand(s) and provide clear medical guidance.
- Accountable for the financial management and reporting requirements for medical affairs.
- Participate in relevant SAGZ Product Teams to provide expertise and ensure alignment of medical affairs with clinical development and commercial activities.
- Represent the SAGZ respiratory global medical affairs at medical meetings, advisory boards, meetings at key institutions, and in interactions with KOLs.
- Travels regularly (both internationally and within the US) as necessary.
About You
Requirements:
- MD required (Board certification in respiratory related field ideal).
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in medical affairs and/or clinical development combined.
- Significant leadership and management experience in medical affairs.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment.
- Proficient in public speaking.
