The mission of the Machine Learning University (MLU) is to foster a community of ML practitioners who learn, apply, and advance ML knowledge. To do this, we develop educational programs and mechanisms that enable the tech community and engage scientists in teaching and mentoring others through our portfolio of programs.
With the recent advances in generative AI, the need to be mindful of the core pillars of responsible AI is fundamental. We are looking to hire instructors who can focus on this key area and help to provide Amazon scientists and developers with the training and education needed. We recognize that this is a new and evolving field and we look forward to seeing what you have done!
A successful candidate will be a passionate teacher with demonstrated ability to explain technical content (in particular machine learning, or generative AI content) to an audience of technical professionals, enhance curriculum, and coordinate with other instructors. Significant practical experience across domains and techniques are required to ensure content is up-to-date, practical and engaging. This is a full-time role where you will constantly be challenged to learn and be curious about all the unknown advances still to come. Help us demystify and democratize technology, and use AI responsibly!
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- PhD degree in CS, CE, or related technical field.
- Experience programming in Python, or related language.
- 2+ years teaching technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience developing educational content in the responsible AI space.
- Experience working with instructional design best practices.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $222,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
