SUMMARYThe AVP, Portfolio Manager, CRE is responsible for the risk management of specific assigned lending relationships of SBA, Business Banking, and/or Commercial Banking segments by loan exposure amount and/or borrower size, though mainly focus in CRE. Act as a client team member with the Relationship Manager for their lending accounts and/or be the primary account manager for loan clients without a designated Relationship Manager. Risk management of account(s) includes partnering with the RM and client to ensure compliance of financial reporting, covenants and accurate risk ratings in addition to renewals, modifications and increases/new loans. Credit files are to be kept current and maintain active communication with borrower to obtain all necessary information. This position is a unionized position through the Communication Workers of America.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES- Works independently and/or collaboratively in preparation of financial analysis and credit memoranda for a variety of needs of the client.
- Maintains record of all portfolio management activities using established bank client management and internal communication systems.
- Maintain clear understanding of loan administration and credit analysis.
- Focuses daily activities on a) ensuring information and credit files of all assigned borrowers are current, performance testing is timely and defaults/risk rating changes are accurate and; b) that there is active communication with borrowers that do not have a Relationship manager assigned.
- Develops and strengthens existing CRE relationships through frequently scheduled follow-up telephone calls, and personal meetings.
- Maintains a record of planned and completed portfolio management activity for all borrowers.
- Prepares and underwrites credit memorandum in accordance with bank’s credit policy, reviews, verifies required documentation, and summary information when submitting loan requests to Credit Administration and the Credit Committee.
- Works closely with Credit Administration to ensure all assigned loan requests are processed in a timely manner; and keeps the loan applicant (client or prospect) duly informed throughout the loan application process.
- Maintains follow up with existing clients to ensure that the bank has timely and accurate financial information for purposes of loan monitoring and update of the bank’s credit files.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings and review goals, objectives and results, obstacles and provide solutions.
- Attends all required community and business-related events and training sessions.
- Share best practices and successes to improve service, processes, procedures and product offerings.
- Understands and abides to all banking regulations and regulatory compliance procedures and the bank’s credit policy in all banking activities.
- Develops credit related procedures and follows established procedures and processes within Beneficial State Bank to ensure the bank’s overall compliance.
- May lead cooperative efforts among colleagues.
- Share best practices and recommends changes to policies, strategies, efficiency, and possibly quality improvement.
- May assist in establishing procedures that affects immediate work group needs.
- Ensures compliance with all state and federal regulations and internal company policies, including but not limited to BSA / Anti-Money Laundering, Fair Lending, Privacy, and Anti-Discrimination, to the extent each applies to current job responsibilities.
- Completes all online compliance training as assigned within specified due dates.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field from a four-year college and/or work experience combined.
- 5+ years of commercial, business banking, credit analyst, underwriting, and portfolio management.
- Prior experience in credit analysis and/or preparation of credit memorandum for loan approvals.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office application.
- Experience in Credit Quest, Moody’s or Bukers is preferred.
- Demonstrated customer service and relationships with high organization skill, self-initiative, timely response to opportunities and client request.
- Maintained and established a CRE loan portfolio and captured business deposits.
- Demonstrated of effective interpersonal skills to articulate with consistent written and verbal communications with colleagues, clients, prospects, and community members.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Demonstrated self-motivation and positive energy to work productively, positively, and professionally with colleagues.
COMPENSATIONThe posted pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role but may include ranges from the different geographies where this position may be based. New employees' starting pay is usually from the start of the range to approximately 25% of the max, more qualified and/or experienced employees may start near the middle of the range for their geography. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Compensation for our organization is based on factors that include the role, required knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies, and candidates’ relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. Our pay ranges are based on national living wage indexes, such as MIT's living wage index, to enable us to pay our employees beyond what are standard practices for many employers, and also take into account geographically-specific recent compensation market survey data for each position.
