DUTIES:
- Deliver IT/IS projects on time, within budget, while meeting Marriott’s expectations.
- Plan, direct and coordinate activities pertaining to technology projects, on an enterprise level or for a major systems implementation program with multiple releases and work streams.
- Develop and lead the technology roadmap and backlog to implement specific product capabilities, ensuring critical requirements are identified, the best solutions for the end user are delivered every time, and alignment with broader group and portfolio objectives.
- Manage project/scrum teams based upon roadmap(s).
- Meet regularly with the team(s) to gather work statuses, discuss obstacles, provide advice, guidance, encouragement, and constructive feedback to ensure deliverables are met timely.
- Lead multiple projects/work streams concurrently.
- Verify project goals are accomplished and in line with business objectives.
- Share responsibility for planning, directing, and coordinating activities pertaining to technology projects for systems and platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members to drive value and develop customer-friendly features and enhancements.
- Partner with solution architects and software engineers to determine best technical implementation methods as well as a reasonable implementation schedule.
- Conceptualize creative solutions, document them, and present/sell them to senior management/stakeholders.
- Develop and deliver projects using leading-edge technologies such as Atlassian (JIRA/Confluence).
- Identify and deploy resources required for projects and escalate any resource gaps.
- Function as escalation to project teams to resolve issues.
- Maintain tools and dashboards to track commitments towards delivery goals.
- Perform Information Technology (IT) project planning, program increment (PI), sprint planning, sprint prioritization, including identifying and developing goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, identifications of risks, contingency plans, allocation of available resources, and deliverables to meet business need.
- Serve as liaison with business unit, Technology Product team, Shared Platforms team, Security team, and Infrastructure delivery team.
- Develop high-level business requirements including cost estimate for a project to determine whether the project is justified.
- Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, required tasks, daily standups, sprint prioritization, sprint demos, and sprint retrospectives.
- Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to monitor project(s) so that they progress on schedule and within budget.
- Establish standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation.
- Review status reports prepared by project personnel and modify schedules and plans as required.
- Inform the appropriate team members of project status and related issues.
- Interface with vendor(s) for programs under direct control.
- Develop and track business case, including total process cost, scope and delivery strategy definition, and establish milestones/schedules.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field followed by 7 years of progressively responsible experience with information technology project management across diverse application areas and technologies. Experience must include:
- 6 years of experience leading project teams
- 6 years of experience implementing enterprise application packages in distributed environments
- 6 years of experience working with Agile/SAFe execution methodology.
Telework: 100% remote; may be performed from anywhere in the US.
Travel: Up to 20% domestic travel required.
The salary range for this position is $148,034 to $157,900 annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus.
Washington Applicants Only: Employees will accrue 0.04616 PTO balance for every hour worked and are eligible to receive a minimum of 7 holidays annually.
