Responsibilities
The George Washington University Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced Per Diem Registered Nurse to join our Radiology team. This role is critical in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of radiology services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care before, during, and after radiology procedures.
- Administer medications and contrast agents as necessary.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and respond to any changes in their condition.
- Educate patients and their families about the procedure and post-procedure care.
- Collaborate with radiologists, technicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document all care provided.
- Adhere to safety protocols and infection control standards.

Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state of Washington, D.C.
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in oncology or radiation therapy.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) preferred or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.
- Strong clinical skills and experience with chemotherapy administration.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
- Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in radiation therapy nursing.
- Advanced certification in Oncology Nursing (e.g., OCN, AOCN).
