Corrigan Krause is currently assisting one of their client’s in the search for a part-time Financial Director. Our Client's history dates back to 1923 and continues to foster understanding of world affairs amongst citizens of Cleveland in a notion to promote world peace.
As the Financial Director, you will be responsible for working closely with the Board of Directors in maintaining and developing financial management strategies, assisting in HR needs, and being a key partner in the success of the organization. This is a part-time, independent contractor position for someone with a strong accounting and finance background who is looking to have an impact and wants to join a dynamic, positive, and mission-driven work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the CEO and Board of Directors to ensure proper fiscal management and develop financial plans to support our mission.
- Manage the annual budgeting process and oversee the audit process with third-party auditors.
- Perform all accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and benefits, in alignment with organizational policies and accepted accounting principles.
- Direct fiscal reporting activities, including revenue/expense reports, balance sheet reports, and reports to funding agencies.
- Work with the CEO to manage banking, endowment, and vendor relationships effectively.
- Recommend improvements to financial management and administrative procedures.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA, or Master’s degree in Business or Nonprofit Management.
- Proven experience in fiscal management, accounting, and budgeting, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
- Proficiency in current bookkeeping software (QuickBooks).
- Knowledge of current accounting standards (GAAP).
- Experience working with a range of vendors and volunteers.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, maturity, good judgment, and personal integrity.
