Overview
We are seeking a dedicated childcare Director who wants to lead a great team of teachers and a terrific program where kids develop and thrive. The Director oversees and maintains the educational, administrative, and public relations of St. Anthony’s Day School consistent with its mission, goals, and program. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering a nurturing, safe, and educational environment while managing daily operations.
Duties
- Maintain, develop, and implement policies and procedures for effective operations in compliance with regulatory standards and to ensure the security of staff and children
- Maintain high-quality childcare standards and educational programming based on developmentally appropriate practices
- Create and implement training for staff
- Promote a positive, caring, and learning climate for students, staff, and parents
- Maintain Accreditation in the National Association for the Education of
Young Children (NAEYC) along with the Assistant Director
- Manage and oversee all staff members, including administrative staff, substitute staff, volunteers, and contract services
- Hire, select, and train childcare staff and contract service providers as needed
- Handle on-site tours and visits for parents, community members, and families
- Plan and organize the school calendar and special events together with the Parents Association
- Maintain open, consistent, and effective communication with parents, providing assistance and support as needed
- Maintain consistent compliance with all licensing standards
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in education or related field OR a one-year early childhood certificate from a college or university OR a certificate from a Montessori organization
- Two or more years of management experience that includes planning, staffing, monitoring, and supervising
- Strong organizational, communication, writing, and interpersonal skills
- Willing to obtain valid MAT, Basic First Aid, Food Manager, and CPR certifications
- Obtain and maintain a satisfactory background check as required by VA DOE standards
- Obtain and maintain a satisfactory health certificate as required by VA DOE standards
- Experience managing a childcare facility is preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
