About the role:
Under the direction of the US PDT Vice President of Sales and National Head of IHS Sales, the Integrated Health System Director (IHSD) manages all aspects of customer engagement including pre and post-sales account management with strategic IDNs, Hospitals and Regional GPO’s. Responsibilities include managing the transition from strategic alignment to sales closure to implementation inclusive of mutual value creation. Coordinate engagement across Integrated Health System Team members (KAM team and other Directors) and the customer to ensure Company and Customer goals and objectives are met and mutual value is realized. Operate to ensure sales growth, advanced partnership, customer satisfaction and portfolio penetration targets are achieved. Also, the IHSD manages issues that arise through the course of doing business by coordinating with the Sales Leadership, Customer Service, Trade / Channel team, Marketing, CL&D and the region based Key Account Managers (KAM’s). Further, they will provide marketplace and customer insights to understand the customer more fully to identify and drive new growth opportunities across Takeda’s PDT portfolio.
How you will contribute:
- Construct and execute a regional strategic business plan focused on the implementation of strategies that align with customer initiatives and PDT strategic imperatives within their respective region.
- Cultivate strategic business relationships with decision makers across multiple departments within targeted Integrated Delivery Networks, Hospitals and Regional Group Purchasing Organizations to execute US PDT strategic imperatives.
- Prospect, Pitch, Negotiate and coordinate Pull Through of contracts with targeted IDNs, Hospitals and Regional Group Purchasing Organizations.
- Advance value-added programming and tactics within targeted customers including but not limited to population health initiatives, peer to peer programming and other branded and non-branded support programs.
- Hire, coordinate, lead, manage, and develop the skill sets and overall performance of direct reports (Key Account Management Team).
- With direction and partnership from the National Head of Sales, the IHSD will be responsible for executing against the strategy, coordinating with the KAM team members, to ensure that our organization and customer objectives identified during the sales process are met.
- The IHSD will work with the customer to identify KPIs and work with appropriate resources to track progress against these goals.
- Together with the Area Lead, IHSD will meet on a recurring basis to review results with executive sponsors and create the dashboards to insert into the Quarterly Business Reviews.
- The IHSD will assist with pre-sales activities, solutions development, and execution to drive new business, retain the existing base, launch new technology, implement the Integrated Health System team goals, and create mutual value with the client.
- The IHSD will be accountable and responsible for driving conversion and compliance at the system level and within the regional structure, supported by field sales leadership and KAM’s at the facility level.
- The IHSD will support the contracting process by providing the National Lead and Marketing with the appropriate analytics, defining the opportunity, and the implementation and account plan across the regional structure of the accounts.
- You will work together with the KAM’s to clarify roles, responsibilities, and timing for the implementation.
- In times of supply constraints, IHSD will manage.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- BA required; MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of healthcare experience, sales leadership required.
- 7+ years direct selling experience to healthcare professionals in the pharmaceutical, biotech, device, specialty, or healthcare industry required, Large Health System experience preferred.
- This position will require 75% travel.
- Manage talent (selection and development of sales personnel).
- Experience driving success within an IDN environment and knowledge of US healthcare.
- Manage in a complex matrix environment including sales, clinical, solutions and services.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Work collaboratively and proactively with others to achieve cross business goals and ability to utilize account team resources aligned to customer needs.
- Experience collaborating with key influencers and senior decision makers by creating value for partnership.
- You will be asked to demonstrate ability to work in a matrix sales organization.
- Someone who can serve as a role model for the organization, outstanding interpersonal skills, a depth, and breadth of leadership experience in the industry, unquestionable ethics, values, and professional integrity.
- IDN and Specialty Pharmacy experience preferred.
- Plasma industry experience preferred.
Location: Field Based – Great Lakes Region - (Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Western PA, Ohio)

U.S. Base Salary Range:
$169,400.00 - $266,200.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
