ROLES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Inspires and motivates students to become world-class nursing assistants by providing an educational, challenging, positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Teaches the 120-hour nursing assistant training program outlined in the syllabus and instructor’s guide in a classroom and skilled nursing facility setting, utilizing engaging and interactive lessons that cater to different learning styles.
- Develop students’ clinical skills to prepare them to pass their licensure exam and excel in their careers.
- Maintains accurate records on all students, including attendance records, schedules, and course requirements regarding hours of instruction and content.
- Evaluate and document student progress through testing, observation, and assessment of skills attained, and provide feedback to help guide their development.
- Provides guidance and mentorship to students, including career advice and emotional support, fostering community and collaboration.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest nursing practices and trends and integrate them into the course curriculum to ensure students receive the most current and relevant education.
- Collaborates with clinical training facilities to ensure students receive adequate hands-on training and experience and communicate effectively with all the course members.
- Participates in faculty meetings, workshops, and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with industry standards.
- Ensures compliance with all state and federal regulations and ethical and professional standards of conduct.
- Handles administrative tasks such as grading papers, managing student files, and ordering supplies as needed, allowing for a streamlined and efficient learning experience.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- 3+ Years experience as a licensed registered nurse or practical nurse.
- 3+ years experience teaching or supervising nursing assistants in a healthcare setting.
- 3+ years experience using office software such as Microsoft Office, Google Suite, or similar administrative tools.
