As a private, non-profit 501(C) (3) community health organization, we serve over 506,563 medical, dental, and behavioral health visits from more than 96,867 people annually. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides visionary leadership to the directors of Marketing and Community Engagement, Business Development and Growth, External Affairs, and Grants, ensuring their initiatives are cohesive and aligned with the overall growth strategy.
- Develops growth strategies, identifying new opportunities for expansion of Neighborhood service offerings.
- Ensures that all growth initiatives are data-driven and continuously optimized based on performance metrics and community needs.
- Stays current on market and legislative trends that may impact existing or new revenue sources and brings relevant information to the executive team.
- Develops business development plans, designs and implements processes to support business growth. Working closely with the VP of Finance, VP of Operations, Associate Chief Medical Director, and other appropriate staff ensures that all financial and operational details are in place for any expansion or implementation of programs.
- Develops and executes a comprehensive marketing strategy that is aligned with broader strategic organizational goals.
- Drives the development of integrated marketing campaigns that increase community awareness, boost member enrollment, and enhance patient engagement.
- Ensures new markets have growth strategies aimed to improve market share, profitability and/or long-term viability and that key stakeholders are engaged in the execution of those strategies.
- Builds and maintains contacts with current and prospective strategic and project partners, external regulatory, third party, and other entities deemed appropriate to the growth impact of Neighborhood Healthcare. Represents, or ensures representation of, health centers in community to build public relations, funding opportunities and patient value.
- Guides the development and execution of advocacy initiatives, philanthropy efforts, and patient experience programs that align with the organization’s mission.
- Participates in the development of an overall business plan to include financial, networking, marketing, outreach and growth opportunities. Accountable for long term projections of revenue and growth opportunities. Develops and monitors analytics to ensure growth objectives are on track or recovery plans are in place.
- Manages grants, ensuring timely and quality submissions and performance to contract requirements after award. Coordinates with Grants Accounting to ensure receipt of funds awarded, taking corrective action as needed.
- Evaluates new business opportunities, determines needed resources, and helps implement effective systems for new programs.
- Provides oversight of the Affiliate Partner Program.
- Develops operational policies and procedures for functional areas of responsibility. In conjunction with the Executive Management Team, develops and continuously improves the implementation of organization-wide policies and procedures.
- Drives all key stakeholders, ensuring accountability for timely and successful implementation of key initiatives.
- Responds to the Chief Operating Officer’s request for special projects involving Neighborhood sites as well as representing Neighborhood in external projects involving other agencies.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Compliance
SAFETY:
- Maintains current knowledge of policies and procedures as they relate to safe work practices and ensures staff members are familiar with and adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Follows all safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
- Uses appropriate body mechanics to ensure an injury free environment.
- Is familiar with location of nearest fire extinguisher and emergency exits.
- Follows all infection control procedures including blood-borne pathogen protocols.
HIPAA:
- Maintains privacy of all patients, employees and volunteer information and access such information only on a need to know basis for business purposes and ensures staff members are familiar with and adhere to all HIPAA policies and procedures.
- Complies with all regulations regarding corporate integrity and security obligations. Report all behaviors and/or activities that are unethical, fraudulent, or unlawful.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Healthcare Administration or similar field, or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in marketing and business development within the healthcare services sector.
- Proven leadership skills and track record in developing and executing a multi-faceted growth strategy in healthcare.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in marketing analytics, CRM, and call center platforms.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service and team collaboration.
- Strong presentation skills as it relates to cultivating significant payor relationships and managing/mentoring external sales representatives connecting with physician practices.
- Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth, market expansion, and sustaining repeat business.
- Committed to continuous improvement in managing all aspects of the business.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
- Strong business acumen, demonstrated understanding of revenue drivers within a non-profit, and ability to develop and execute strategic vision. Demonstrated ability to develop business analytics including return on investment and performance measures/KPIs. Knowledge of health care, community outreach, marketing analytics, and CRM operations.
- Proven effectiveness in leadership and teambuilding.
- Good interpersonal skills: ability to work with people of all social and ethnic backgrounds and within the constraints of government funded programs; ability to communicate and build trust and rapport with people at all levels of the organization. Ability to work independently and as a team, take initiative, and be proactive. Ability to handle multiple projects, priorities and deadlines.

- Ability to travel for training or meetings to other Neighborhood sites and occasionally outside San Diego/Riverside counties as needed. Must have reliable transportation, CA driver’s license and proof of insurance.

Salary range: $247,000-$359,000, depending on experience.
