Job Description
This position reports to: Manager, Hardware Reliability Engineering

What you get to do in this role:
As a Hardware Reliability Developer, you will be responsible for building hardware-specific tools that scale systems through automation and evolve ServiceNow’s infrastructure by pushing for changes that improve reliability and ensure optimal performance of the hardware that powers ServiceNow’s Enterprise Cloud.
We work closely with our external hardware partners to develop creative solutions that enable us to achieve our high level of reliability. As such, excellent communication skills with an appreciation for feedback are critical for success in this role.
In addition to automation development, you will be responsible for helping build our internal knowledge base by creating and maintaining documentation regarding all things hardware.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you have:
- 2+ years of relevant work experience.
- Proven problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems internals and administration (e.g., filesystems, storage volumes, devices, system calls, repos, etc.) or networking (e.g., TCP/IP, routing, network topologies, and hardware).
- 2+ years of experience with enterprise-class server systems including remote access management devices and firmware management.
- 2+ years of experience in shell scripting and Python, including programming against RESTful APIs.
- Bachelor or equivalent experience in Computer Information Systems (CIS), Management Information Systems (MIS), or Computer Science (CS) or related field.
- Ability to extrapolate patterns from datasets and build reports that illustrate trends.
- Excellent communication, conflict management, time management, and interpersonal skills required.
- Experience using the ServiceNow platform or ITIL Process and Change Management.
- Experience with ServiceNow Platform is a plus.
- Experience working in or with operations teams to help develop cross-team solutions.
- Proficiency using version control systems such as Git, SVN, etc.

For positions in this location, we offer a base pay of $121,600 - $188,400, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation, and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan, and family leave programs.
Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located and is subject to change based on work location.
