The Associate Director, Data Science uses mathematics, statistics, modeling, business analysis, and technology to transform high volumes of complex data into advanced analytic solutions. This role requires a solid understanding of how organizational capabilities interrelate across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee the execution of data science projects, including predictive modeling, machine learning, and advanced analytics.
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of data science projects, from data collection and preprocessing to model development and deployment.
- Utilize statistical analysis and machine learning techniques to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in leading complex advanced analytic projects from design to execution while managing stakeholder expectations and meeting targeted timelines.
- Create reports, projections, models, and presentations to support business strategy and tactics.
- Stay abreast of emerging technology and educate others on its application and impact.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
- 6 or more years of advanced data analytics experience.
- 2 or more years of management experience.
- Proven ability to translate complex methodologies and analytical results to non-technical business insights.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational navigation skills.
- Experience with Python, R, SAS, SQL, MATLAB, DataRobot or similar tools.
- Experience developing machine learning and statistical forecasting models.
- Track record of high impact project implementations in an industry setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree.
- PMP certification.
- Six Sigma Certification.
Work from Home Information:
This role is "remote/work at home" and can be based anywhere in the United States. To ensure effective work, employees must have a minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps. Humana will provide necessary telephone equipment.

Pay Range:
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full-time employment. The pay range may vary based on geographic location and individual qualifications: $139,500 - $192,000 per year. This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan.
