Job Description Summary
As Associate Director, Global Innovation Marketing - Central Pharmacy you will be responsible for addressing key customer challenges, and generate profitable growth for the business. The role is accountable for setting the strategic direction and executing the strategy globally across functions and regional business teams. Specifically, this individual will manage the in market solutions as well as lead the innovation discussions and support the Director in presenting the ASR strategy for our next generation central pharmacy innovations. Furthermore, the role is accountable for the global financial performance of the solutions tied to strategic plan commitments. This role will also have managerial responsibilities through managing a small team of marketing product manager professionals that support the solutions. This team member will also partner closely with the Global Customer Support organization to deliver new problem-specific offerings. Candidates must report to our San Diego, CA or Franklin Lakes, NJ offices 3 days per week.

MMS Business Unit:
The Medication Management Solutions (MMS) business is a global provider of Medication Management technology serving Acute Care Hospitals, Non-Acute Care, and Retail Pharmacies. We are focused on making the medication use process simpler, safer and smarter. The Associate Director, Global Innovation Marketing – Central Pharmacy position is hybrid (San Diego or Franklin Lakes office based) and reports to the Director, Innovation Marketing, Central Pharmacy. This leader will focus on delivering customer solutions focused on medication management across global healthcare settings.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Drive solution management, including growth and innovation strategy, and product lifecycle management
- Manage small team of product managers to support product core teams.
- Grow global revenue growth, including current operating year and three-year Annual Strategic Plan
- Partner with the commercial marketing team on go-to-market strategy
- Define a vision for differentiating BD’s Solutions versus competitors including collaboration with other product teams
- Partner with Medical Affairs group to develop and drive market shaping/development activities.
Other key activities that will make a candidate successful in the role:
- Understand BD’s multi-product landscape and build strong partnerships with key stakeholders, including product managers, SME’s, development and design leads, and software engineers.
- Lead in-depth discovery conversations with customers to identify deep insights on common problems/needs, clearly articulating the voice of the customer.
- Design and validate new customer-centric solutions and capabilities that create differentiated value for the organization’s portfolio.
- Own the product lifecycle from requirements gathering through production and release, confidently evaluating and balancing risks & tradeoffs.
- Partner with R&D to prioritize initiative work, define the product roadmap, and ensure timely delivery of the right product.
- Work to understand and eliminate complex technical, functional, and business problems, enabling the broader team to efficiently execute on the product.
- Partner with commercial and regional teams on global Launch & Commercial Planning for new & expansion offerings
- Generate undeniable Proof-points & Compelling Evidence, demonstrating the value of the offering to the market, justifying new pricing & business model innovation.
- Build comprehensive Marketing Plans for new solution offerings
- Partner with commercial marketing and sales organizations to ensure maximum penetration of market segments.
About You: To Be Successful in this role you will possess:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree. An MBA with a concentration in Marketing is preferred.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in upstream marketing, general management, and business development
- Ideal candidate will have experience in both upstream and downstream marketing; experience with software and agile release development process is preferred
- Experience and understanding of US and international acute care hospital medication management process is preferred
- Proven ability to persevere and thrive in ambiguous situations
- Strong leadership towards multiple levels in the organization

- Proven ability to build and manage a team as applicable

- Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
Salary Range Information: $147,200.00 - 242,900.00 USD Annual
