Overview
This position is for a Manager, Cyber Security Engineering – SSE Security with a concentration on Secure Service Edge (SSE), proxy, Zero Trust Network Access, and UTM technology stacks. The right candidate will have the ability to manage a team of Cyber Security Engineers, serve in a technical lead role, provide technical project management/oversight, and provide hands-on support at an SME level within areas of focus.
The role involves providing leadership, lead support, and technical guidance to several key technology solutions, as well as support SSE security solutions from the conceptual phase to operationalization.
The position expectations require weekly work of 40 hours, generally 8 am – 4:30 pm Monday through Friday, but may require nights and/or weekends based on project needs. Travel is required but limited.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to team of cyber engineers supporting technologies within area of focus
- Provide technical leadership and SME knowledge to SSE solutions and projects
- Provide technical leadership and SME knowledge to proxy/web security solutions and projects
- Enforce new and existing team standards to foster consistency across systems and operations
- Lead troubleshooting initiatives and ensure proper resource assignment
- Evaluate technical solutions in response to business challenges
- Provide thought leadership in support continuous improvements and service maturation
- Present technical solutions as needed for knowledge sharing and acceptance
- Provide project support and status reporting
- Establish and maintain system documentation
- Represent changes via CAB meetings
- Collaborate with partnering teams in support of solution development and deployment
Qualifications
- Strong team player, able to communicate and show leadership amongst teams of similarly knowledgeable specialists and Engineers
- Experience leading technical teams
- Experience working with Incident, Problem, and Change Management
- Expert level technical and operational experience with Palo Alto Prisma solution
- Expert level technical and operational experience with BlueCoat proxies or similar solutions
- Experience implementing and managing Unified Threat Management solutions
- Experience with Zero Trust Network Access
- Experience with firewall rules and network technologies
- Expert level experience in Cyber Engineering with a concentration on SSE security
- Expert level experience with System design, administration and security
- Expert level experience with proxy solutions
- Proficient and professional verbal and written communication, including group training
- Practical understanding of machine learning and automation
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum (3-5) years’ experience with Network design, administration and security
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience
- Active CISSP Certification
- Active Palo Alto or Cisco certification
