About our Director of Education Position
In partnership with the Chief External Affairs Officer, provides strategic direction, management, and oversight of PPGNHAIK Education Department staff and programs, including sex education delivery in states, grant programs, and implementation of federal grants for Education including the Office of Population Affairs (OPA) Kalihi Youth Sexual Health (KYSH) Project in Hawai‘i.
What you will be doing!
Providing strategic leadership Education department staff to develop and implement sexuality education programming that centers equity in the pursuit of assuring youth and communities in our states have full access to sexual and reproductive health information.
Overseeing and supervision of operations, staff, and infrastructure of state and federally funded project teams. Responsible for leading and developing programs and collaborating with managers and staff.
Directing community assessments, curriculum and program development, implementation, grant compliance, and evaluation processes for educational programming. Managing budgets and staff to ensure success. Working collaboratively as part of the PPGNHAIK leadership team.
Key Responsibilities:
Overseeing complex and diverse programs and effectively performs and completes multiple duties and assignments concurrently.
Directing the Education department state teams and federally funded project team(s).
Directing community assessment, program and curriculum development and implementation for educational programming, and providing appropriate support for infrastructure to maintain excellent programs for youth, communities, and partners within existing resources:
- Ensuring education programming centers equity in delivery of sexual health education for youth and communities.
- Overseeing the quality of content and delivery for training of facilitators, classroom and community sex ed lessons.
- Coordinating implementation of educational programming including ensuring fidelity to programs and grant requirements, data collection, maintaining relationships with funders and partners, overseeing reporting, invoicing, and applications.
Developing and maintaining relationships with local, state, and national community members, stakeholders, and other organizations to support, represent and promote education programs.
Carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, and with a spirit of support and coaching, and accountability for performance and success. Supervises and provides guidance and support for Education Manager(s) and Program Manager(s) and their teams to ensure growth, positive department culture and successful programming.
Overseeing department operations, administrative systems, and structures, and provides appropriate support to maintain superior programs/services for customers.
Maintaining commitment to and ongoing development of cultural responsiveness and consistency in centering equity in pursuit of program and departmental goals.
Maintaining a working knowledge of professional literature in the field of sexual health, youth development, SRH, and equity and inclusion work.
Minimum Qualifications: Minimum 8 years of professional work experience aligning to Education, preference in sexuality education or related field.
Minimum 4 years management/supervisory/mentorship/leadership experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of adolescent development and adult learning.
Experience providing services to LGBTQ+ and/or BIPOC youth or the adults who work with them.
Federal Grants management experience.
Writing lesson plans and curriculum.
Knowledge of sexual and reproductive health.
Salary Range: $93,663 - $173,946
Position Type: Exempt - Full-time
