ROLE SUMMARY
At CorePower Yoga, we deliver results through the mindfulness of Yoga. As an Interim Area Manager, you live the mission by leading an area of 2 or more CorePower Yoga studios. The Area Manager is responsible for driving growth and managing the overall profitability of their area by developing talented Studio Coordinators, delivering an extraordinary yoga experience, and driving business growth through strategic operations. You are a leader, responsible for developing diverse teams that serve their students and studio communities.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Own all processes related to the day-to-day operations of your studios including leading the Studio Coordinator, Teaching, Studio Sales, and Studio Experience Teams for multiple studios within an area.
- Sustain a high level of communication with employees through productive individual dialogue. Complete regularly scheduled meetings, trainings, and feedback sessions to facilitate team cohesion.
- Communicate all CorePower Yoga policies, initiatives, and protocols for all staff members.
- Develop a talented Studio Coordinator team including recruiting, hiring, and training new coordinators, continually strengthening abilities and providing a challenging and rewarding work environment.
- Own staffing for your studio class and SET schedule by supporting preplanned time off, absences, and subbing.
- Consistently develop your teachers and provide regular feedback to foster continuous personal development and a world-class yoga experience.
- Oversee and delegate operations of the SET including recruitment, onboarding, training of SmartHealth protocol, delivering feedback for improvement, and scheduling.
- Partner regularly with District Manager on studio-level operations. Provide solution-oriented feedback to enhance the student experience and overall strategy of the market.
Health and Safety Management
- Lead, execute, and train all current CPY SmartHealth Protocol in studio including leading and training the SET team, personally cleaning studio spaces to the CPY standards, and educating students on our updated systems.
- Take ownership in the functionality of your studio and the physical space; and act as a liaison between the Studio Support Center facilities and IT teams and local facilities contractors.
- Work with your studio coordinator team to maintain an appropriate level of studio supplies in your locations so that all provisions and amenities are available for all students at all times.
Studio Presence and Guiding the Student Experience
- Commit to a minimum of 40 hours per week primarily in your studios with some weeks flexing higher in hours. This requires flexibility in service of the studio including acting as “on call” manager as needed.
- Teach a minimum of 4-6 aligned CPY5 classes per week, which may be a combination of permanent, sub, and online.
- Teach CorePower Live (live streamed, online) classes and host them at your studio based on your area’s CorePower Live Schedule and direction with your District Manager.
- Support training and facilitation as needed of CPY programming and continuing education.
Grow the Business
- Take personal responsibility for continued revenue, profitability, and membership growth of your studios by setting clear and actionable multi-studio level goals that support larger regional and company initiatives.
- Partner with the analytics team to design strategic class schedules for your community by communicating the history and preferences of your specific student population through attendance and schedule optimization.
- Own the retail business within your studios including achieving sales goals, merchandising new items, executing markdowns and sales, and maintaining visual excellence at all times.
EDUCATION, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- One year experience in a CPY operations leadership or equivalent role preferred.
- Multi-unit operations experience preferred.
- Must be able to travel between studio locations.
- Completion of a Yoga Alliance 200 hour teacher training program required.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment and can prioritize while working under multiple deadlines.
- Proven self-starter with ability to take on new projects with enthusiasm.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Familiar and comfortable in studio systems such as the HRIS, intranet, point of sale systems, company scheduling and payroll systems, etc.
- Ability to build relationships with individuals with diverse personalities and styles and at different levels of seniority.
- Experience in delivering actionable and supportive feedback for improvement to a variety of team members.
THE FINE PRINT
- 5-6 days a week/40+ hours a week in studio per a defined schedule.
- Availability must match the needs of the business and leadership zig-zag schedules – morning, evening, weekend, and some holiday availability and flexibility required.
- Must be able to move around the studio space, crouch, reach, and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to step in to teach any class format with little to no notice.
