POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES:
The Managing Director of Corporate Banking is responsible for managing and leading all aspects of the Corporate Banking Division, including Corporate Lending and the Commercial Finance Group. The primary objective of this position is to increase profitability on a long-term sustainable basis, by adding quality new corporate banking clients, properly managing existing relationships, and developing new products and services while maintaining a strong credit quality.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in identifying and developing new commercial loan opportunities including but not limited to, commercial real estate loans, business lines of credit for working capital, equipment loans, business acquisition loans, construction loans, development loans, letters of credit and leases required.
- Minimum of 10 years senior-level management experience in bank operations required.
- Ability to understand financial analysis, formulate appropriate loan structure and assess risk of complex companies and lending structures required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and internet applications.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for working closely with the Chief Lending Officer and other senior management members to prepare and achieve strategic business initiatives, overseeing all aspects of the Corporate Banking Division.
- Communicate and implement programs and policies that support bank-wide growth.
- Exercise personal lending authority up to established policy limits.
- Exercise loan policy exception approval authority where applicable.
- Responsible for setting the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Corporate Banking Division.
- Responsible for leading the business development of Corporate Banking Division through direct involvement in client meetings and prospecting activities.
- Know compliance responsibilities and particular requirements affecting your area of responsibility, incorporate these requirements into your business processes and procedures, perform ongoing monitoring and periodic self-assessments including reporting and corrective action as needed, and assure appropriate training to associates regarding these responsibilities and procedures.
- Model and foster behaviors that support the Bank’s values and corporate culture creating an atmosphere of trust, cooperation, accountability, and dedication to the organization.
- Willingly perform all other duties and projects as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Bank’s guidelines, policies and procedures and all applicable state and federal laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and the overall development of associates; coaching and mentoring while providing challenging opportunities to enhance career growth; planning, assigning, and directing work; setting expectations and appraising performance; recognizing and rewarding associates or recommending disciplinary action as appropriate; addressing complaints and resolving problems; and helping to build a positive team culture.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Travel between Republic Banking facilities in all markets is required.
- Occasional out-of-town travel is required.
- Flexible work schedule that will include some evenings and weekends.
- Stay abreast of new developments, best practices, and statutory and regulatory changes.
