As the CNBU Architecture Director for DDR Memory at Micron Technology, you will have the opportunity to establish a deep understanding of Micron’s technologies and capabilities, as well as key market trends and competitive landscapes. Together with a team of architects, you will be responsible for using that knowledge to define optimized DDR solutions that are focused on next-generation datacenter systems!
You will be responsible for building strong technical relationships with system architects and key technologists across the industry and will have the opportunity to represent Micron at technical conferences and consortia. Your role in those industry engagements will be to drive pathfinding discussions, influence design-in decisions, and negotiate product requirements with our ecosystem partners and customers. Internally, you will partner with Micron’s top R&D, design, test, and product engineers to ensure successful implementation of new product concepts. Working closely with Product and Business Development Managers, you will ensure that each technical decision is aligned with our business strategy, and ultimately help bring these amazing new products to our customers!
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Lead a high-performing team of architect engineers
• Recruit and retain top technical talent
• Encourage and develop the team to reach their top potential
• Align key objectives for the team to our overall business strategy - Develop a strong cross-disciplinary appreciation of the solution space:
• Fabrication process – including CMOS and interconnect capabilities
• Functionality of DRAM, emerging memory, and other devices
• System topologies and interconnects – including details on protocols, PHY’s, and signaling (SI/PI)
• DRAM interaction with the system – especially for shared timing and power budgets
• Performance, power, cost, complexity, quality and reliability implications of these solutions - Understand customer requirements and collaborate on solutions
• Understand the problems to be solved, priorities, and optimization points for customer systems
• Analyze technology trends in the industry
• Identify competitive solutions and analyze value propositions
• Ensure successful design-in of new solutions through close collaboration with our end customers - Forge product specifications and technical documents supporting new technologies
• Create new product concepts and intellectual property
• Draft internal product design requirements
• Prepare customer technical collateral including product specifications and training - Engage in the market as a Micron technical expert
• Develop relationships with counterparts at key customers and ecosystem enablers
• Participate in standards organizations to create proposals and specifications
• Participate and speak at industry conferences
Work Experience and Skills:
- 15 years or more in a DRAM or memory system focused design, product development or product engineering role
- Proven track record of growing and developing highly technical teams
- A Master's degree in material sciences or electrical engineering
- A strong understanding of DRAM technologies and standards, interoperability with CPU architecture, design constraints and challenges
- Understanding of different DRAM standards and interfaces, and a keen understanding of relevant industry standards especially JEDEC
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:
$188,500.00 - $375,500.00
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure, and relevant education or training.
