JOB TITLE: DIRECTOR OF FINANCE
REPORTS TO: CFO
JOB PURPOSE:
Manage overall accounting and financial activities related to agencies’ financial operation and give oversight to the grant contract processes and procedures. Supervises the work of the Finance Staff.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership
- Assist with reporting finance matters and reports at Board of Directors and finance committee meetings
- Contribute to the development of Partners for HOME’s strategic goals and objectives
- Assist with the annual finance planning/budgeting processes and preparation of the annual budget
Financial Reporting
- Prepares monthly financial statements for reporting to management, the finance committee, and the board
- Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
- Lead the annual auditing process
Accounting
- Manage systems to account for financial transactions by overseeing the chart of accounts and reviewing monthly entries to the ledger;
- Maintains and make revisions to the accounting policies and procedures;
- Maintains accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions;
- Maintains and balances general ledger;
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions;
- Prepares and submits monthly grant reimbursements.
Contract Management:
- Provide oversight to procurement and contract management
- Lead update and review meetings with appropriate staff members
- Approves requisitions and reimbursements for contract compliance;
- Ensures compliance with all grant requirements by funding agencies;
Senior Project Manager Supervision:
- Responsible for hiring, training and retaining finance staff;
- Provide internal and external training opportunities for staff;
- Creates performance measures and conduct performance evaluations and reviews;
Human Resources:
- Oversee compensation, recruitment, performance appraisals and staff training and development activities.
- Communicate personnel policies and procedures including compensation, recruitment, and performance. Oversee employee-related insurance and retirement.
- Celebrate staff anniversaries and look for opportunities to celebrate staff success.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
- CPA certification a plus
- Minimum five years accounting and supervisory experience
- Working knowledge of grant accounting systems, including Government Audit Standards and Federal A-133 audit requirements, payroll systems, accounts payable systems, billing and collections systems, reimbursement systems, contract administration and data/reporting management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel
- Proficient in using accounting systems; QuickBooks is a plus
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize and manage various projects within strict deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and well organized

Pay: $84,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
