As part of the IFC, the Climate Business Department (CBD) works across the organization to implement the climate change action plan. CBD is responsible for supporting IFC investment and advisory teams to identify and account for climate investments, track committed climate finance, partner with Treasury on the IFC’s Green Bond Program, develop analytical tools, lead climate risk management, and develop thought leadership via publications and external partnerships.
CBDCI is seeking a highly motivated and capable Extended Term Consultant (ETC) committed to enabling knowledge sharing across IFC. The candidate will take a supporting role in helping the department to roll out multiple internal learning events/fora. The willingness and interest to create new learning capabilities, and curate existing learning leveraging the Open Learning Campus (OLC) is key.
Duties and Accountabilities:
The primary role of the Consultant is to support the key works of CBDCI. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, coordinating with subject matter experts, and supporting delivery of:
- Learning Event Coordination and Knowledge Sharing:
- Develop Climate Learning Paths: Create and manage IFC’s grade- and role-based Climate Learning Paths available across multiple platforms to onboard new and upskill existing IFC staff.
- Event Design and Management: Design and manage onboarding and learning aids, such as self-paced online learning, videos, checklists, and presentation materials.
- Multi-Modal Climate Knowledge Events: Lead the organization and execution of multi-modal Climate knowledge-sharing events, such as BBLs, workshops, clinics, and conferences.
- Content Development and Systems Support:
- Support the creation of internal systems for events, communication, and training courses to foster learning across CBD, IFC, and the World Bank Group (WBG).
- Develop information and communication materials using various media formats.
- Reporting and Tracking:
- Develop tools and processes to track IFC and CBD staff participation in climate-related learning.
- Generate quarterly and ad-hoc reports on Knowledge and Learning activities.
- Procurement and Resource Management: Assist in the procurement of tools, magazines, and data sources as needed by the department.
- Other: Assist the team lead with the delivery of other CBD-related work, including project management and capacity-building initiatives as per evolving needs.
Selection Criteria:
The ideal candidate should have expertise in learning coordination, with the ability to manage multiple projects, develop innovative approaches, and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Master’s degree in management, public administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in learning event coordination, content creation, or online learning.
- Understanding of IFC’s climate-related strategic priorities.
- Proven experience designing and delivering learning programs using various tools and methods.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to conduct surveys and produce data-driven reports.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with experience engaging stakeholders at all levels.
