Ayoroa Simmons is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director to oversee and lead our Geomatics Division. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all land surveying operations, driving the growth and development of the division, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality projects to clients. You will lead a team of project managers, surveyors, and technicians, oversee project planning and execution, and serve as the key liaison between the Geomatics Division and key clients, stakeholders, and internal teams. DOT project experience is essential for this role, as the successful candidate will oversee a variety of transportation-related projects. Dual licensure as a Professional Land Surveyor and Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred. This job shall be performed in the Lexington, Kentucky office.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide overall administrative supervision of the Geomatics Division's licensed and subordinate personnel.
- Lead and oversee the Geomatics Division, managing all aspects of operations including project management, staff supervision, and business development.
- Develop and execute strategies for growing the geomatics practice, expanding service offerings, and cultivating client relationships.
- Oversee the scheduling and coordination of survey crews and field operations, ensuring timely and accurate completion of projects.
- Oversee and review survey data, reports, and deliverables, ensuring the accuracy and quality of final products.
- Provide technical leadership in the use of modern surveying tools and technologies, including terrestrial LiDAR, GPS, and traditional surveying methods.
- Collaborate closely with the BIM, geospatial, and architectural teams to integrate surveying data into 3D models and other digital deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, professional standards, and company policies.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring exceptional service and satisfaction.
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of excellence, safety, and innovation.
- Lead the delivery of transportation and infrastructure projects, with a focus on meeting DOT standards and requirements.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) with 10+ years of experience in land surveying.
- Dual licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred.
- Proven track record of leading and growing a land surveying practice, with strong business development skills.
- Experience in managing a team, including field and office personnel.
- Expertise in both traditional and advanced survey methodologies, including the use of LiDAR, GPS, and total stations.
- Experience with SUE projects, geophysical technology, standards, and field practices.
- Extensive experience with DOT projects and familiarity with DOT standards and protocols.
- Proficient in survey-related software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, or similar.
- Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results within deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in overseeing projects in both public and private sectors.
- Knowledge of BIM integration with surveying data.
- Familiarity with GIS and utility infrastructure surveying.
Compensation:
Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in Lexington, Kentucky is $110,000 - $145,000. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors including internal comparators, skills, education, training, credentials, experience, the scope and complexity of role responsibilities.
