THE ROLE:
The AMD System IP Methodology Team builds tools for enhancing workflows and providing automation solutions. The team specializes in working with large data, identifying roadblocks and inefficiencies in existing ecosystems, and developing tools to remove them. As a member of this team, you will design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs, application tools, networks, etc.
THE PERSON:
You are an experienced and hands-on Software Engineer with extensive experience in one or more programming languages. A successful candidate will work with senior silicon design engineers. The candidate will be highly accurate and detail-oriented, possessing good communication and problem-solving skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, build, test, monitor, manage, and maintain tool chains for critical functions.
- Own and drive improvements to build, simulation, release scripts, tools, and processes.
- Automate technologies to improve the velocity and quality of engineering efforts.
- Shape and build efficient self-learning applications.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experienced Software Engineer with extensive experience in hands-on coding and previous lead experience strongly preferred.
- Deep knowledge of one or more programming languages including shell, C++, Perl, Python, Groovy, Java, and/or Ruby.
- Strong background in object-oriented programming.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to think critically and to formulate solutions to problems in a clear, concise, and timely manner.
- Ability to monitor, debug, and automate routine tasks.
- Strong background in data analysis, data modeling techniques, and data visualization techniques.
- Expertise in database administration and SQL.
- Knowledge of continuous integration and deployment tools such as Jenkins and version control systems such as Perforce or GitHub required.
- Very good understanding of LSF and Unix systems (RedHat).
- Experience with ASIC standard verification tools, languages, and flows is a plus.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Masters degree in computer engineering or Electrical Engineering preferred.
LOCATION: Santa Clara, CA preferred; Austin, TX can be an option.
