Procurement Director
The Director of Procurement will be instrumental in helping to build the foundation of procurement while also analyzing and negotiating large contracts. This includes developing and implementing policies, procedures, and systems to reduce costs, streamline processes, and drive continuous improvement. This is a hands-on role and perfect for an initiative-taker who will thrive in a dynamic and fast-growing environment. This individual will be comfortable and proficient with working in the details but also sees the big picture and is a systematic thinker. Additionally, the ideal candidate consistently delivers with high quality, accuracy, completeness & timeliness and will have strong capabilities in financial analysis and modeling to understand and influence business performance.
About the role
As a Procurement Director you will:
- Build meaningful and trusted relationships with key internal stakeholders across business units and functions.
- Lead contract negotiations and the contract negotiation process securing advantageous contracts, working with our legal and other internal teams to determine the must-haves.
- Establish operational and financial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to achieve business outcomes.
- Continuously review and enhance procurement policies, procedures, and systems to align with best practices and evolving business needs.
- Identify and realize cost-saving/cost-reduction and cost-avoidance opportunities.
- Ensure invoice accuracy and compliance with contract/pricing/payment terms and take corrective actions as required.
- Benchmark spending and vendor data to align with best practices and identify areas to drive more efficient spend.
We are looking for you if you have:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive procurement and supplier management experience.
- Strong understanding of strategic sourcing, negotiation, and contract management principles.
- Proficiency with procurement software/tools and data analysis techniques.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Outstanding communication and relationship management skills.
- Quality-focused with an emphasis on continuous process improvement.
- This role is based hybrid out of Somerville, MA. Candidates should be local and within commutable distance.
