Responsibilities
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is tasked with shaping and managing the financial strategy, planning, and overall financial health of the organization. This involves overseeing all financial operations, ensuring adherence to non-profit regulations, and collaborating closely with the Senior Leadership Team and Board of Directors to maintain financial integrity and long-term sustainability. The CFO will deliver strategic recommendations based on financial analysis and forecasting, prepare detailed financial reports, and manage the organization’s financial risks. Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the organization’s mission and objectives.
- Supervise the preparation and approval of financial reports and metrics for funders, the Board of Directors, and organizational leadership.
- Lead the creation and management of the annual budget and forecast process, including long-term financial planning.
- Provide financial insights and guidance on all activities, plans, targets, and business drivers.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, accounting standards, and financial regulations, including IRS rules for non-profits.
- Maintain effective internal controls and financial procedures.
- Manage financial risks, including insurance policies, investment strategies, and reserve funds.
- Oversee audits and ensure they are completed efficiently and in a timely manner.
- Prepare and present financial statements, reports, and forecasts to the Board, finance committee, and other key stakeholders.
- Keep the Senior Leadership Team and Board updated on the organization’s financial health, trends, and key performance indicators.
- Work closely with program directors and department heads to align financial management with organizational goals.
- Lead and develop the finance team, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
- Promote a collaborative and supportive environment within the finance team.
- Serve as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to strategic planning and organizational development.
- Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to develop and support fundraising strategies.
- Oversee the financial aspects of grant management, including budgeting, tracking, and reporting.
- Ensure financial operations align with donor expectations and funding requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Strong proficiency in financial management software and tools.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in finance, business, or a related field.
- At least 3-5 years of financial management experience in a non-profit setting is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of non-profit accounting, financial management, and reporting requirements.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is highly preferred.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
