Description: Offering 3 -12-hour days 0600-1830 and very limited call, with working toward staffing 24/7
POSITION PURPOSE: Under limited direction of the Director/Supervisor and with medical direction of the radiologist, carries out appropriate ultrasound procedures and maintains related records; provides general assistance to the radiologist in interpreting studies and provides technical instruction to students and hospital staff. The age of the patients served ranges from infants to geriatrics.
What you will do:

- Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations.
- Performs other duties consistent with the purpose of the job as directed.
- Demonstrates a customer-focused/professional behavior at all times.
- Performs quality ultrasound procedures by utilizing proper positioning skills and technical factors.
- Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
- Checks requisitions and charts to confirm the correct examination.
- Verifies correct patient using two patient identifiers before beginning a procedure.
- Maintains daily supplies in assigned work area and recommends reordering of items.
- Informs patients of examinations being performed and obtains consent to perform procedures.
- Transports patients to and from Radiology as needed.
- Demonstrates activities to impact change within the department.
- Promotes and establishes effective relationships within the department and with hospital guests.
- Takes an active role in enhancing abilities to carry out job functions through personal and professional growth.
- Maintains the standard continuing education requirements.
What we are looking for:
- Must be registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or board-eligible.
- Must be ARDMS registered in vascular technology or obtain within 24 months of hire.
- Prefer prior sonography experience.
- Must have advanced knowledge of radiation safety standards.
- Must be certified in Basic Life Support.
- Must have minimum typing skills.
- Must have a high degree of independent decision-making ability.
- Must have knowledge of sterile technique.
- Must be competent to provide care within assigned unit.
