About the Team
The Workday Data Center Operations team is looking for a talented and versatile engineer to ensure quick and accurate turnaround of various duties that are critical to the success of the organization.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will have previous DC OPS experience with technical skills related to rack design, power utilization and space management, integrations, provisioning, asset lifecycle, and vendor management.
Additionally, the candidate must possess critical thinking skills geared to identifying potential areas of improvement in our processes with an eye on opportunities for automation.
What you will do:
- Design rack elevations based on power and space constraints within our DC’s.
- Work closely with our integration partners to lead rack builds and deliveries of fully integrated cabinets to our US based Data Centers.
- Allocate server & network hardware to appropriate projects.
- Coordinate server builds and TOR validations for newly installed racks.
- Perform adds/moves/changes to our DC Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tool.
- Handle our power and environmental monitoring and reporting software tool. Build and supervise dashboards for power optimization.
- Work with onsite personnel to tackle issues within our rack PDU infrastructure.
- Administer our server spare pool and coordinate spare server usage with our internal partners.
- Allocate servers in break/fix scenarios and perform server decommissions and relocations as needed.
- Perform evaluations of anything from new rack elevations, POC’s or potential new software from DCIM and PDU vendors.
- Beta test new releases of data center specific software prior to production release.
- Documentation of new and existing processes and procedures.
About You
Basic Qualifications:
- 7+ years of Data Center Engineering experience or similar position.
- 7+ years of Data Center infrastructure as it relates to space and power.
- 7+ years in data center power able to plan, design and implement an energy plan for data center facilities, with a focus on energy efficiency.
Other Qualifications:
- Solid ability to connect with vendors and different teams within Workday.
- Solid understanding of DCIM and power management tools, whether commercial or in-house.
- Experience working in a fast paced, highly technical environment.
- Experience with Jira and Confluence.
- Able to work independently in addition to group settings. A “go-getter” who can take a set of requirements and transform them into a successful end result.
- Ability to shift gears quickly from one project to the next while maintaining high quality, accurate work.
Workday Pay Transparency Statement
The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. Primary Location Base Pay Range: $133,000 USD - $199,600 USD
Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $110,200 USD - $199,600 USD
